Caleb has been competing for eight years learning his race craft from the very young age of 8 years old earning 2 event wins in the younger group then restricted to 12.90 seconds over the 1/8 mile(200m). Following his 11th birthday he moved up in the class to a restriction of 8.50 seconds over the 1/8 mile(200m)at Sydney’s Karcher Nitro Championships top qualifying at his first event in the new class by covering the eighth mile in just 8.600 seconds at almost 130kph. After a number of wins and Top Qualifying efforts Caleb had a stellar 2009/2010 season becoming the youngest ever Australian Nationals finalist at the Fuchs Australian Nationals in Sydney at only 11 years of age.
He followed this with a final round appearance at the Western Nationals in Perth and continued scoring solid points at every other round for the year. He concluded the season by taking out the Rocket Allstars Australian National Championship becoming Drag Racing’s youngest ever Champion at age 12 years and 2 months and earning the right to carry the number 1 on his car for the 2010/2011 season. Caleb how ever did not get the chance to follow this up as with the devastating Qld disasters of 2011 Oberg Family Racing did not get the chance to travel and finish the second half of the season. Since then the introduction of a new level of racing A/JD with a 7.90 second restriction has been introduced an Caleb has yet again had a lot of success over the last couple of years.
