Brayden has been racing junior dragsters now for three and a half years. He crewed for his oldest brother Rhys for a couple of seasons and then his sister Alicia for a season before he got his own racecar. He was a natural from the start and in his very first meeting beat all comers with great reaction times and skillful race craft. He made his way to the final beating arguably the one of the best JD racers ever to come out of WA being Matty Matulovich in a mighty race and will be remembered for a long time.

Brayden raises over $6000 for cancer in the World Greatest Shave

Brayden started to get serious in the 2013 season when his parents purchased a new car and he stepped up into the “A” category A/JD. He started winning races here and there while he became accustomed to chasing his opponents rather than being chased. He won several meetings at home and then his first big success was the 2013 Westernationals. He drove really well and every light during eliminations was a “0”. As this meeting was part of the Australian Championship the family decided to take Brayden and his car over east and have a crack at the Championship. They first went to Sydney where he finished with a runner up and gained valuable points. He dedicated his success to his Grandfather Laurie who was critically ill at the time back home in Perth.
They then travelled to Adelaide where he again finished runner up and gained enough points to be equal top with 5 other racers and 2 others still had a chance to win the championship. They then returned to Sydney where Brayden was the last of the top 10 standing thus giving him the Championship win and the coveted Australia number one! He dedicated his Championship to his Grandmother Isabel, who had just passed away. 18/10/14
