What a weekend. Firstly we would like to say a massive thank you to all of our sponsors, Melton Motor Wreckers, Epic Visuals, Ballistic, Gone Mowing. Started off the weekend with three qualifying rounds on Saturday then into eliminations on Sunday. We ran up against some very experienced junior drivers but Chelsea was at the top of her game cutting consistent lights and numbers and taking her all the way through to the finals against Jake Berias. Unfortunately we missed out on the win by 0.070 seconds. Congratulations to Jake on taking out the win & making it a hat trick, what an amazing achievement. Runner up in our first Summit round final, we are super proud of Chelsea, her drive & determination blows us away, she is a winner. Congratulations also goes out to Zara Board for taking out top qualifier. On another note, it was great to see Alex who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy fulfil one of his dreams to race a junior Dragster. What a champ. [Ruckus Racing ]

Mildura Sunset Strip. Another great time at an awesome track. Perfect weather the whole weekend. Saturday started with a ‘(just) too fast’ 8.494 Q1. Rapt with the time but that’s a non qualifying run and our one warning for being too quick. So we slowed it for the next 2 qualifiers and ended with a comfortable 8.59 to put us 10th in a competitive field of 28 cars. All cars, big and small, in our ‘setup’ ran really well so everyone was upbeat looking forward to Sunday. We got through Round 1 with good light and a backing off 8.70 on a 8.65 dial. All good. Round 2 we paired up (again!) with current championship leader Jake who is ‘on fire’ with 2 from 2 meet wins this season. Unfortunately we turned on the red light by 0.011 of a second and our day was done. That’s racing!Just too make it a little more disappointing we ran bang on our dial in of 8.64. Congrats to Jake who went on to win the meet and make it 3 from 3! So for us, it was a meet of ‘thousands’ .006 from top qualifier and .011 from round 3. That’s drag racing. It’s tough! More importantly we are having fun as a family and this is what this is ALL about. Win or lose. Finally, congrats to Zara Board on top qualifying and to all the juniors who had a great time on Saturday night ‘hanging’ out together. Great to see. Also the guys/girl’s for a killer track and our ‘group’ for a no fuss great weekend. We now look forward to Swan Hill in less than 3 weeks and Portland on Nov 10-11. [Drag’n Fly Junior Dragster]
