The weather didn’t put a damper on the 2nd Annual Serpentine Car Show held at the Serpentine Rib and Steak House. This year the event was held to raise funds for young Tyzaak who suffers from cerebral palsy and to support his parents with transport for young Tyzaak and his wheelchair.
After discussions with Lucas, we decided this was an ideal opportunity to put the Junior on display and show our support for our local sponsors – Riverside Mechanical and Urban Concrete Solutions, as well as Formula Tech Performance.
All through the day with slight interruptions with slight rain we had around 30 children sitting in the car and having their photos taken and lots of smiles. We also fielded many questions with several parents interested in the costs and set ups.
The event was well supported by the community with many locals bringing their cars and bikes for judging.
We also presented Tyzaak with his own race suit which brought a lot of smiles from him and his parents.
Lucas’s car will now be stripped down, checked and rebuilt in preparation for the Junior Dragster Nationals in Mildura in early August and with new trailer we have room to take a few extra cars. Depending on transport we may head to Darwin for the very popular Nitro Up North.
We are looking forward to racing with many of the JD families from around the country, and after seeing Zara racing in Sydney and doing well we are confident of doing well.
Thanks to Gill from the Serpentine Rib and Steak House for the venue (and sponsorship proposal) and also Vereen Ellwood for assisting with the display and photos.
